– The General Tire Jeepspeed racing series, presented by KMC Wheels, saw incredible growth in 2015. For 2016, the excitement continues. General Tire is back as Series Sponsor and KMC Wheels has signed a three year commitment as Series Presenting Sponsor in addition to continued sponsorship of the Jeepspeed KMC Wrangler Trophy. As this goes to press, several brand new teams have already committed to joining the KMC Wrangler Trophy series in 2016.

The KMC Wrangler Trophy events will be held February 4-7 at the Parker 425, August 17 – 20 at Vegas to Reno and October 6 -9 at the Blue Water Challenge. All Jeep Wrangler owners and aftermarket companies are invited to participate in KMC Wrangler Trophy events. The series is an incredible opportunity to race your personal Jeep Wrangler, showcase your company’s Jeep Wrangler image vehicle and/or your Jeep Wrangler products in the real world of desert racing. If you have a Jeep Wrangler, your ticket to off-road racing is parked in your garage right now!

The Jeepspeed Challenge (class 1700), Jeepspeed Outlaws Cup races (Class 3700), and Jeepspeed Cup intermediate races (Class 3750), will run the new Best In The Desert (BITD) six race series. The points championship is decided by the best 5 results out of the 6 race series. The New BITD series has some exciting venues and changes to existing favorites. New venues will include a two-day event in Laughlin, Nevada May 6-8 and the Pahrump Nugget “250” presented by Supercross.com on December 1 – 4 in Pahrump, NV. The longest off-road race in the United States, Vegas to Reno will have a new two-day format.

Complete rules and regulations are listed on the www.jeepspeed.com website but basically class 1700 is the most popular and affordable class, often referred to as the Stock Class. Vehicles in this class must be Jeeps and use components readily available to the general public. They are allowed limited options for modification.

Class 3700 is the most Open Class with the least restrictions, tube chassis vehicles are welcomed to apply to compete. Vehicles in this class must be Jeep or Dodge sport utility vehicles and light trucks that are recognizable as a Jeep or Dodge by brand grill, hood and fenders. The larger wheelbase and engine rules allow several more recent models such as 4 Door Wranglers and Dodge trucks to participate. This is a fun class that has fierce competition, a real “run what ya brung” type of racing.

Class 3750 is an Intermediate Class that allows the range of vehicles of the 3700 class while introducing modification limitations for affordability. Vehicles in this class compete in the same “Jeepspeed Cup” as the 3700 class but additional prizes and awards are assigned specifically for this class. Jeepspeed racing has a class for everyone!

The success of Jeepspeed racing is due to the initial concept envisioned 15 years ago that a cost effective series could exist in a racing environment that is usually out of reach for most. It offers fierce competition, generous sponsor support and the satisfaction one gets from designing and building their own race vehicle.

No other series has the cost savings and parity that spec racing strives for, with the freedom to design your own vehicle. You don’t have to purchase a costly vehicle to race. Jeepspeed racers build their own vehicle that conforms to a few basic construction and safety rules in their own garage from inexpensive and plentiful Jeep and Mopar vehicles. Everyone has an equal shot to end up on the podium or take a win. Jeepspeed proves you don’t have to spend a million bucks to have fun racing. They have discounted entry fees with pro payback. All competitors in the series benefit from strong support provided by General Tire, KMC Wheels, Premier Chrysler Jeep, Currie Enterprises, King Shocks, G2 Axle & Gear, Rubicon Express, SmittyBilt, PAC Springs, and KC HiLites.
