– Christopher Polvoorde’s Modified Kart Championship in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series proves that hard work and playing by the rules pays off. Two DNF’s (did not finish) early in the season gave Polvoorde a tall mountain to climb, but did little to discourage the young driver.

In addition to his racing endeavors, he is a diligent student with a demanding schedule that includes an advanced academic high school and courses at a community college. He also races cross country mountain bikes; he is never intimidated by a steep hill to climb.

Christopher Polvoorde was on the podium 11 times out of the 14 rounds of the Lucas Oil races he ran; 7 of those were first place wins. He battled all season for every single point he could accrue.

After his final round of racing, he was a single point short of the championship. In post-race inspection, it was found that his main rival did not pass tech. After that competitor was disqualified, Polvoorde was rightly awarded the title.

“I was very excited to learn that I had won the championship. My team and I worked very hard this year to try to accomplish this.” Polvoorde finished second in the Lucas Oil Championship in 2014 and earned the Rookie of the Year title. The Lucas Oil Series, Modified Kart Championship was not his only title this season.

Polvoorde traveled east to the birthplace of short course off-road racing, Crandon, Wisconsin.

At Crandon’s “Keys to the Big House Race”, he swept the weekend with two first place finishes and he earned a prestigious World Championship title. His World Championship title puts him in the record books with many of the icons of the sport.

Christopher Polvoorde is highly intelligent and a fierce competitor. With plans to race a Pro Lite truck in 2016, he will be one to watch as his racing career continues to progress.
