TORC-Logo-12-2-13STURGIS, S.D. — Second, first, first, first. Those are Keegan Kincaid’s finishes here at The Legendary Buffalo Chip Powersports Complex after he broke out the broom to sweep the Battle of the Chip, TORC’s return to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. In a near exact replay of Tuesday’s race, Doug Mittag was leading the PRO 2WD race with Kincaid, both on Cooper Tires, close behind. Once again, a bobble on Mittag’s part gave the lead to Kincaid. The Crandon, Wis. native was also able to gain 10 points on defending class champion and points leader CJ Greaves, who had mechanical issues during the race.

“This track’s been good to me,” Kincaid said. “I got my first PRO 2 win here last year, racing in Mike Jenkins’ truck racing for my dad. I felt good coming in here and this truck ran flawless all race long.”

Marty Hart finished second in PRO 2WD with Mittag rounding out the podium in third.

Greaves made up for his PRO 2WD troubles with a dominating victory in the PRO 4WD class in his Maxxs Tire Toyota, stretching out his lead over his father and three-time and defending champion Johnny Greaves. The PRO 4WD race was extremely physical with battles between runner-up Chad Hord and Scott Douglas adding more excitement to an already heart-pounding race. Mike Jenkins took his second third-place finish of the weekend

“You know, we just had a strong truck,” Greaves said. “I have to take my hat off to my crew because my truck was on a rail. Anywhere I wanted to go, I could put it there. Those guys were battling ahead of me and I could just dissect where I wanted to pass them and get around them without having to touch them.”

Kicking off the second day of racing for Rd. 12 of TORC: The Off-Road Championship Presented by AMSOIL was the PRO Light class with Doug Mittag earning his sixth victory of the season. Kyle Hart in his Maxxis truck was forced to drop to the back of the field prior to the green flag after being forced to hit the hot pit, but came back strong for a runner-up finish. Cam Reimers, who led a large portion of the race in his Liquid Wrench truck, took home his second third-place finish of the event.

The next race on the TORC schedule is the Throwdown in the UP at Bark River International Raceway Aug. 15-16. For ticket information, visit BarkRiverOffRoad.com.
