Kleiman-Off-Road-Racing-Crandon-7-2-15
STURGIS, S.D. (Aug. 5, 2015)
— An impressive crowd at the 75th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally watched part-time TORC Series PRO Light driver Kyle Kleiman earn his first-ever class victory Tuesday at the Battle of the Chip at the Legendary Buffalo Chip Powersports Complex. It was a hard-fought, physical battle for the entire race that saw points leader Doug Mittag with his Cooper Tire-sponsored machine finish second with Cam Reimers putting his Liquid Wrench truck in third for his third podium finish of the season.

“Oh, it’s awesome!” said Kleiman after taking the win on his Kenda tires. “It’s a lot of work, that’s for sure. It was a long time coming and I’m just thankful to be up here.”

This year is the second year TORC: The Off-Road Championship Presented by AMSOIL has raced at the legendary Sturgis rally and the second year Keegan Kincaid has put Cooper Tire on top of the PRO 2WD box for his third win of the season and his fourth overall. Defending class champion CJ Greaves took the runner-up spot while Marty Hart finished third on his Maxxis Tires.

Mittag, in his second race of the day, dominated the first half of the race, but an unfortunate bobble gave Kincaid the lead.

“I saw Doug’s tire going away and he spun out a little bit,” Kincaid said. “I thought someone was going to go around us, but we put our head down and we put this truck on top of the box again. It feels good after we had a little bit of bad luck after Crandon.

“To finally put this back up there and those Cooper Tires held on just long enough and they shot us right to the front, so I can’t thank them enough. Want to thank my family and this crowd, this crowd at Sturgis is awesome!”

In the final race of the day, defending PRO 4WD champion Johnny Greaves took the victory with points leader CJ finishing second and Mike Jenkins finishing third.

“It was awesome,” Greaves said. “I just had to keep it clean and not make any mistakes. It’s super easy to over drive. I just made sure CJ couldn’t get on my butt. When I heard he had a flat tire, I thought, ‘Well, that’s good, but he’s still coming.’ I want to thank these Sturgis fans for coming out. I hope they had a good time!”
