The Stinger, Brandon Arthur, put in another consistent race during round 9 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Race Series at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California. His 2nd place podium finish was the third straight for Arthur, catapulting his Competitive Metals, Pro Traffic Services, Rigid Industries LED Lighting, Toyo Tires, HRT Motorsports, Method Race Wheels, Magnaflow, FiberwerX, Aeromotive Fuel Systems, F&L Racing Fuel, Impact, FOX shocks, Heatshield Products, Maxima Racing Oils, Summers Brothers, Wirefab, ECP Powder Coating, Bink Designs and Redline Performance Pro Lite up two spots in the points standings, from 6th to 4th. Despite a weekend filled with weather delays, The Stinger was hooked up right out of the box. Round 9 was supposed to be run Saturday night but torrential rains forced a delay to Sunday morning.

“The rains came during practice for Saturday’s race,” said Brandon Arthur, “The round was postponed to Sunday morning. With no qualifying, they lined us up according to the points standings. We started on the outside of row 3. My Toyo Tires gave me great forward bite off the line; I was running third after the first lap.”

The race got bogged down after this with back to back yellow flags for a pair of rollovers. There is nothing more frustrating for a driver with a fast truck than to be slowed down for a re-start. Brandon was in the lead pack with the best in Pro Lite. The points leader Brooks was first, former champion RJ Anderson was second. Brandon was in third ahead of defending champion Sheldon Creed and Brad DeBerti ran 5th. When the green flag came back out, Brandon was on RJ’s bumper heading to the front.

“RJ and I both got around Brooks on lap 17 when another caution came out,” said Brandon, “It set up a green, white, checkers finish. On the last lap we had a really close battle with RJ and finished 2nd. It was a great race for us making that our third 2nd place finish in a row. It was a great finish for our team and I couldn’t be any more proud of my guys. They have put in a lot of hard work to get us where we are. Our next race is in Estero Beach in Mexico. It should be another good race for us!”

Round 10 was supposed to go off later that day but the rains returned causing a postponement. Round 10 will be held at a later date that is yet to be determined. August 1st and 2nd the Lucas Oil Series will be in Ensenada, Baja Mexico for the Baja International Short Course race at Estero Beach. Come check out some short course racing south of the border!
