Gunk-Luyendyk-X-Games-6-6-15

Charlotte, N.C. – GUNK will be represented on track for a second year in a row at X Games. Hosted in Austin, TX, at the Circuit of the Americas, the X Games are the premiere extreme sports competition drawing top talent from all over the world. Arie Luyendyk Jr., GUNK’s sponsored driver, will be competing during the off-road truck racing event this Sunday, June 7. The race will be broadcast live during ABC & ESPN 3 coverage Sunday from 2p – 6p ET.

“I am very excited to be selected again this year and back in the GUNK colors with additional support from Hostile Wheels,” said Luyendyk. “It will be an all-out battle to make it to the main event; every driver will be taking big chances to win. When the dust settles, I hope I’ve got some shiny new hardware.”

“X Games is one of the largest stages in the world of sports,” said Marshal Livingstone, Director of Marketing and Consumer Insights at RSC Chemical Solutions. “The games are an excellent opportunity for Arie and the GUNK team to showcase their talents. We are thrilled to be back.”

In last year’s X Games, Luyendyk narrowly made it to the main race after contact in the heat race. Starting from the back row, moving forward proved difficult on the tight track, and Arie finished 10th place out of 18 drivers.
