Sierra-Trek-2015-Off-Road-4-21-15

This August 6-9 near Truckee, California, the California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs (CA4WDC) will host the 48th annual Sierra Trek, one of the West’s premier four-wheel drive events. Sierra Trek offers some of the best four wheeling in the country and has a long-standing reputation for great family fun.

There are 11 trail rides ranging from mild to wild. The Thursday and Friday Fordyce Creek runs traverse an old mining road as they make their way up to the historic site of Summit City (circa 1862). Meanwhile, guided SUV and historic trail rides delve into the heart of California’s Gold Country, visiting 18th-century graveyards, mining camps, and alpine lakes. When the sun sets, the famous Sierra Trek bonfire is lit and the band takes the stage for a night of dancing and socializing at Summit City Saloon.

All trips include four days of country-style in-camp meals, entertainment, children and adult games, and a vendor show with dozens of manufacturers.

“We’re excited about 2015,” Event chairman Amy Sagraves said. “We’ve expanded the vendor and car show, added new trail rides and an ATV/UTV run, and our raffle will hand out over $20,000 in gear from BFGoodrich, Warn, ARB, Raceline Wheels, and other manufacturers.”
