BlueRibbon-Coalition-Logo-9-28-12Editor: The BlueRibbon Coalition sent out this note about the proposed Cornville Single Track Trail in Arizona. Read more below.

The Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest is developing a proposal to create a single track motorized trail near Cornville, and is requesting public comments to further evaluate this proposal. Helpful comments include specific thoughts or concerns related to the proposed Cornville Single Track Trail.

As the Forest Service develops the proposed action, the comments received help focus the analysis on relevant issues related to the project.

The Cornville Single Track Trail proposal was brought forward as a result of the public input at various public meetings on the Verde Valley Trails Project, which was a comprehensive effort to identify trail needs in the Verde Valley. The proposed trail would generally follow an existing 26-mile social trail that was used by those seeking motorized recreation opportunities prior to the implementation of the Travel Management Rule. A map of the project area is available on line at www.fs.usda.gov/goto/coconino/cstt

To be the most helpful in the planning process, comments should be provided by April 15, 2015. Those who send us comments will be notified when the proposed action is available for review.

Please email comments to comments-southwestern-coconino-redrock@fs.fed.us;  FAX comments to (928) 203-7539; or mail them to District Ranger Nicole Branton, Red Rock Ranger District, PO Box 20429, Sedona, AZ 86341.

Thanks in advance and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact BRC.
