Toyo-Tires-Logo-5-16-11CYPRESS, Calif. — Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has announced a safety recall campaign on approximately 138 of the company’s 22-inch Toyo Open Country M/T® tires. The recall campaign covers the Open Country M/T in size 40X15.5R22 127Q, manufactured during the week of October 26, 2014. These tires are intended for light trucks, SUVs and vans.

In a small number of these recall tires, a production error may have resulted in tires with off-center belts. If undetected, this condition may potentially contribute to a tread/belt separation and/or loss of inflation pressure, which may increase the risk of tire failure and a vehicle crash.

The recall tires were manufactured at our plant in Sendai, Japan (CX) and can be identified by examining the sidewall stamping for the Brand, Model, Size, the “Made in Japan” mark, and the Tire Identification Number (“TIN”), which includes the plant code (i.e., immediately following the “DOT” mark), and the manufacture date (i.e., last 4 digits of the TIN). Please see the chart below for details.

Owners of affected tires should return to their tire dealer as soon as possible for free replacement tires.

Additional information, including a list of authorized dealers and how to read a tire sidewall, can be found on our website: toyotires.com/recall-campaign.
