GILBERT, AZ: This weekend kicks off the 6th year of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Regional Series Arizona presented by ADS Shocks.  The series is a grass-roots short course racing organization that follows the same rules as the National Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing series, allowing more opportunities for spectators and participants to attend off-road racing events local to the Phoenix area.  “We have another action packed schedule lined up for the Arizona racers.  We have commitments from drivers ranging in age from 7 to 72, featuring some of the best off-roaders in Arizona,” said Tim Jones, Series Owner.  “We have a list of high-profile racers already entered into this weekends race including The Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr, Pro Off-Road driver Corry Weller and many other Lucas Oil racers that will be putting in their testing before the professional season starts.  Yes, you can meet these racers in a more relaxed and open environment, or race against them!”

The first event of 2015 will be held at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports facility on Saturday February 28th with gates opening and action starting at 9am.  The Main Events will run from 12:30pm to 5pm for a full day of racing.  Sunday March 1st will have the same schedule for Round 2 of the 10 round series.  Ticket prices are $15/day or purchase a weekend pass for only $25.  $5 off coupons are available at SDHQ and Foddrill Motorsports.

Live broadcast of the main events will be available online at www.livetrackfeed.com both Saturday and Sunday starting at 12:15pm.  The coverage will include the opening ceremonies through the last main event – live racing, commentary and live timing.

The two-day event has 15 different classes that drivers compete in: 1. Open V8 / Desert Truck  2. Dragon Fire Production 1000cc UTV & RZR 900cc UTV  3. RnR Steel Unlimited UTV  4. Stock RZR UTV   5. American Recycling Jr2 Karts  6. Jr1 Karts  7. Mr. Rooter Modified Karts   8. Open Pro  9. Weller Racing SR1 UTV  10. Network Automotive Mini Stock Trucks  11. Network Automotive Mini Mod Trucks  12. Foddrill Motorsports Limited Buggy  13. 1600 Desert Limited Class.  14. Full Stock Trucks  15. Ultra 4×4. There are classes for the young kids up to the professional open classes making it a full day for a whole family to enjoy.

This year, co-riders are allowed in the Desert Buggy, Full Stock Truck, Open V8 Truck, Ultra 4×4, Mini Stocks and Open Mini Mod Truck classes.  If you are considering racing, this is a great opportunity to get behind the wheel and on the track in a competitive but successful way.  The Lucas Oil Regional Series, Arizona annual membership is only $50.  We encourage other regional racers to join us, please note all regional memberships are good in Arizona.

Weekend Schedule: Thursday February 26th, ASCC will host their 2014 Awards Banquet at Octane Raceway.  Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m will be the only practice session for the weekend; there is a $50 fee.  Spectators are welcome.  Saturday & Sunday spectator gates will open at 9 a.m. Qualifying starts at 9:00 a.m. and the Main Events will begin at 12 noon with the final podium race ending at 5pm. Ticket prices are $15/day or purchase a weekend pass for only $25. Parking is $10 per day or camp for $10. Walk around the pits, hang out with the racers, bring the entire family and enjoy a full day of racing. There’ll be lots of food and entertainment throughout the day.
