Leading up to last week’s Detroit Auto Show, Nissan teased truck owners with the enticing news of a new Cummins diesel designed specifically for its next-generation Titan truck. At its press conference during the North American International Auto Show, Nissan finally took the tarp off its new Titan XD, the truck that will harness the power of this new 5.0-liter Cummins motor.

Part of the big news from Detroit is that there will actually be both a half-ton Titan and a larger Titan XD truck available to consumers in 2016. The Titan XD, which will straddle the line between a 1/2-ton and 3/4-ton truck, will be the only truck platform to offer the Cummins motor, which Nissan announced will produce 310 hp and 555 lb.-ft. of torque. It’ll likely still be at least a few months before we lay eyes on the next-gen Titan. In the meantime, take a closer look at the Titan XD from the NAIAS in the video below.
