Crandon-Sportsman-Series-12-24-15
Abrams, Wisc.
– This past Wednesday evening representatives from Crandon and Bark River met with the MORR Board to discuss the upcoming 2015 Sportsman race season. At the meeting the two race facilities announced the formation of the Sportsman Off-Road Series. With both iconic off-road race facilities operating the series and with the support of MORR, Sportsman short-course off-road racing in the Upper Midwest will continue to be some of the best racing in the nation.

A variety of subjects were covered during the meeting including class rules updates, the combining of certain classes, race administration on and off the track, safety regulations, the actual race series, marketing partners, and other topics pertaining to Sportsman short-course off-road racing.

“Sportsman competitors are the backbone of our racing community,” noted Cliff Flannery. “The Sportsman group really embraces the off-road lifestyle. They come to Crandon and Bark River not only to race, but to enjoy the weekend with family and friends. The tracks and MORR met to ensure all the people and equipment will be in place to ensure fair and competitive racing in all of our classes.”

As in the past MORR will continue to represent the  needs of its Sportsman racer membership, while Crandon and Bark River work to create a five weekend, ten round Sportsman race series.

“MORR was formed to ensure that Sportsman off-road racers had a place to race,” remarks MORR vice-president Don Demeny. “Thanks to Crandon and Bark River, our sport will continue to grow, not only this year, but for many years to come.”

The opening weekend of  Sportsman racing will be included in Crandon’s Off-Road Super Challenge held during the first week of June. The weekend festivities includes all ten classes of Sportsman Short-Course off-road racing as well as high horsepower mud bog racing and rock racing from Rich Klein’s W.E. Rock group.
