Steven-Eugenio-galindo-11-11-14
So far this year Galindo Motorsports has seen just about everything; from a podium finish in San Felipe, to the disappointment of loosing an overall win in Imperial, to the struggles of mechanical woes at the 500, to taking our first win in SCORE Trophy Truck back in our home town. We’ve learned a lot in a very short amount of time and now we come to the biggest race of the year, just a few points away from the SCORE Championship.

“The Baja 1000 is something every driver aspires to do. First you want to race it, then you want to win your class and after you’ve done those things you start looking at what it takes to win it overall,” said Eugenio. “We’ve put together a good plan and have teamed up with one of the best teams and drivers in desert racing right now.”

“When we first started putting this together we were a long shot in the points and I had only planed to drive with Tavo,” said Eugenio. “But now we’re are right there behind Tavo in points and decided that we’d make this a two truck team and double the effort. If either of us is fortunate enough to win or take the championship we will celebrate either way, as a team. Both trucks are in to win this race and we will do our best to make that happen!”

“I’m very excited to be teaming up with Steven for the 2014 Baja 1000,” said Tavo. “We will make a very difficult team to beat as both of us are very fast drivers but smart drivers as well. With the backing and experience of Vildosola Racing we will be a force to reckoned with!”

Starting for Steven will be the veteran Trophy Truck racer Gustavo Vildosola Sr. heading up an all-star lineup of drivers in the #7 “Having Tavo and Steven on the same team is fabulous, They are two of the best off-road racers today,” said Gus. “On the other hand Fidel Galindo and I share a lot of values like racing, winning and having two of the best teams backing us up. This in the context of going for our third Baja 1000 overall win is priceless!”

Following Gus in the #7 will be multi-time multi-class champion Adam Pfankuch and then long time racer and champ TJ Flores. These two are solid additions to the team both confident and talented drivers. We welcome their skill and knowledge.

Steven will be pulling double duty, driving the middle section in the #21 for Tavo and later finishing up the final run in the #7 into La Paz.

The overall dream would be that both trucks cross the line 1st and 2nd for an epic finish. If either does they’ll be making history as either the first Mexican National team to win a SCORE Trophy Truck Championship with Vildosola Racing or the first to win the Championship in their rookie year in the class with Galindo Motorsports.

“Once again we dedicate this to my uncle Art “Chico” Eugenio Sr. who passed earlier this year and we will continue to do so in his honor.” Said Eugenio. “This one is for you Chico!!!!! Thank you for all your support and love over the years. I’ll see you on the other side.”
