Brian Deegan unveiled his new Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 wheel line today at SEMA.

Fresh off his Pro 2 Championship in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, Brian Deegan and Mickey Thompson announced today a new wheel line at SEMA. The new Deegan 38 wheels will be available in two different styles – Pro 2 Black and Pro 4 Black – for trucks, SUVs and Jeeps. Mickey Thompson says the new wheels are scheduled for availability in March 2015.

After launching a Deegan 38 off-road tire last year at SEMA, Deegan explained today at Mickey Thompson’s booth that it only made sense to also offer a wheel option as well.

“The next evolution of it was we should get some wheels going for this tire. So we sat down with all the key guys, and we came up with many designs. You know, it’s hard, I mean it is just a circle but there are so many ways you can do it, and we sat down and thought ‘what’s the coolest way that’s really going to represent me, represent the brand, and go out there and get people to stand behind it, and that’s what we came up with – the Pro 4 and the Pro 2, the black wheels, the wheels that I would put on my race truck that I’d put on my cars and represent and be stoked about it.”

Brian Deegan explained the importance of being part of the process in developing the new wheels, as opposed to simply tacking his name on a product with no real input. He feels the Deegan 38 line not only reflects him and his style but also compliments the Deegan 38 tire Mickey Thompson launched last year.

Deegan explained at the event that the process was very much a collaboration and not sure him putting his name on a product blindly, which VP of marketing for Mickey Thompson Ken Warner reinforced.

“We worked with Brian to design a unique line of wheels that will become part of the next generation of Deegan 38 products,” Warner said. “These wheels are tough, stylish and functional. The pop-top center cap makes it simple for manual 4×4 owners to lock down the hubs without removing the center cap.”

The Deegan 38 Pro 4 wheel, an appropriate name since Deegan is leaving the Pro Lite ranks and plans to tackle Pro 4 next year, features a race-inspired eight-spoke design with a two-stage matte black finish and a logo situated dead center on the pop-top center cap. The Pro 4 will be available in 15- to 17-inch fitments, and it will carry a limited lifetime warranty as well as a one-year warranty on the finish.

The other option in the line is the Deegan 38 Pro 2, which features features a multi-dimensional eight-spoke design but also features the same two-stage matte black finish Deegan 38 logo found on the Pro 4. The Pro 2 will be available in a wider variety of sizes, including 15- to 20-inch fitments, and it will come with a limited lifetime warranty as well as a one-year warranty on the finish.
