Along with the race team and the race truck, Toyota also brought along its TRD chase vehicles that will aid the team during its trip down the Baja peninsula later next week. Toyota partnered up with off-road fabrication shop N-Fab to help get the vehicles ready for Baja using a blend of TRD and aftermarket parts. The vehicles will not only aid the race team while in Baja, but the vehicles also serve as a blueprint for building capable off-roaders using TRD parts.

For starters, the TRD Tundra chase truck is fitted with the same suspension found on the TRD Pro Tundra, so the unique Bilstein 2.5-inch remote-reservoir coilovers will not only help soak up the bumps, but they also help provide an additional 2 inches of ground clearance. TRD off-road wheels are equipped on the Tundra, which are fitted with BFGoodrich T/A KO all-terrain tires.

Since the chase truck will be traveling at night visibility is crucial, so Rigid E-series light bars are installed, including a 40-inch roof bar, a 30-inch light bar mounted to front bumper, and two separate 10-inch rear-facing light bars with one featuring an amber lens and the other clear.

To aid in navigation, a Lowrance 7-inch GPS is installed in the cab, and an RCI chase radio will keep the truck in communication with the rest of the team. A Smittybilt power air tank is equipped for quick fill up for any flat tires, while a spare 11-gallon fuel jug is equipped on the truck as well. A 12,000-pound Smittbybilt XRC Gen 2 winch will help get the race truck, or anyone else, out of trouble.
