– The Flying Dutchman Off-Road team will be back on the track next weekend at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway. Mike Vanden Heuvel will once again pilot the family’s familiar red Maxxis Tire equipped PRO-2WD as the team marks its thirty-sixth year of racing at the “Big House.”

The Flying Dutchman PRO-2WD #77 is recognized as one of the crowd favorites as Mike’s all-out attitude always makes the team a serious podium contender. This year a third generation family member, eight year old Carter Vanden Heuvel, will represent the team as well in his Short Course Kart. Carter and ‘Uncle Mike’ will sport completely matching race trucks, right down to the team’s signature wings.

Mikey Vanden Heuvel quote: “With our family’s history at Crandon, it was really important to me and to the team that we raced both weekends this year. We’re fortunate to have been involved with the track for so long and we want to continue to be a part of the great tradition here. When racing is done, it’s also about friends and family. That is what makes Crandon so incredible.”

Currently both Crandon TORC events are on the schedule for Mike Vanden Heuvel, so if you are at the track stop by the paddock and say hello. You can also follow “racermike77” on twitter and Instagram as well as on Facebook.

Mike and the team would like to thank their partners: Maxxis Tires, Lincoln Electric, Auto Trans Designs, MSD Performance, SPAL, FK Rod Ends, PAC Springs, Jaz Products, & Airgas.
