RENO, Nev.
— Already with a total of five airings confirmed, Round 2 of the 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship will debut this Sunday at 6 p.m. (PT) with a one-hour CBS Sports Spectacular special on the CBS Sports Network.

SCORE International announced in February that CBS Sports Network will televise the entire five-race 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series. Each one-hour telecast will air approximately one month following each event, starting with this Sunday’s telecast of the Inaugural SCORE Imperial Valley 250 desert race.

Round 3 of the five-race 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series was held last week in Ensenada, Mexico as SCORE returned to the Baja California peninsula for the second of three races in 2014. In 2014, two SCORE races are being held in the United States and three in Baja California, Mexico. The first CBS Sports Network air date for the recent 46th Tecate SCORE Baja 500 is scheduled for 6 p.m. (PT) Sunday, July 20.

SCORE Imperial Valley 250 Coverage

This year’s Inaugural SCORE Imperial Valley 250, which airs Sunday, saw San Diego’s Andy McMillin pinch-hit for driver of record Rob MacCachren to earn the overall and SCORE Trophy Truck victory in the No. 11 Rockstar Energy MacCachren Motorsports Ford F-150.

The 2014 SCORE television deal provides the most expansive television coverage package in the 41-year history of SCORE, the world’s foremost desert racing organization.  The regular telecast time slot for the five 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship events is Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. ET. Further, a sixth show will cover the 2014 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 qualifying event, to be held Nov. 4-7 in conjunction with the massive annual SEMA Show automotive industry trade show in Las Vegas. Qualifying for SCORE Trophy Trucks will be held at the Off-Road Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“Bud Brutsman and his BCII TV crew have done another super job of capturing the uniqueness of a SCORE first time event in the Imperial Valley,” said Roger Norman, SCORE CEO/President. “Sunday’s final product on the CBS Sports Network should be memorable.  It was a very unusual race in that it was a multi-lap event that was engulfed for much of it in a wind-driven, suffocating dust storm.”
