Imperial Valley, CA – BJ Baldwin aims to be the first to win the inaugural event when the SCORE International Off-Road Racing series holds its first ever race in the hoodoos, rock gardens and silt beds of Imperial Valley, California. April 25-27. BJ revels in being first; you don’t earn 7 Championships by settling for second best. The Imperial Valley 250 takes place in the hotbed of desert racing in Southern California and BJ is anxious to put on a show for his rabid SoCal racing fans.
“It’s the first time we’ve raced SCORE in the Imperial Valley but I’ve been coming down here for years to roost the dunes in Glamis,” says BJ, “I can’t wait to show my fans what my Monster Energy Chevrolet can do in Plaster City. I’ve heard the course has a lot of silt and rocks. The rougher the better as far as I’m concerned; anyone can go fast in the smooth stuff. We kill the competition when I open it up and let my Toyo Tires and King shocks eat it up.”
BJ’s Rigid Industries LED lights will be cutting through the thick dust on the course and the countless rocks will be no match for the strength of his Method Race Wheels. At 250 miles in length, it will be an all-out sprint to the finish. BJ plans to be the first to the finish and the first etch his name in the IV250 Trophy.
It all starts Thursday night at the Monster Energy SCORE “Imperial Valley Goes Green” party from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm at the Imperial Valley mall. It features a Pit Crew Challenge contest, driver autograph session, vehicle display and Thursday evening contingency. You will be able to catch BJ in action as the Cactus Films San Felipe 250 video and CBS Sports San Felipe 250 race program are shown on the giant SCOREvision screen. Everyone is invited so come on down!
