PAYSON, UT
– The 2014 GNCC season will begin on March 8 with the Moose Racing Mud Mucker in Bunnell, Florida. Rocky Mountain ATV/MC rider Josh Strang will return to compete in the XC1 Pro motorcycle class.

Strang is no stranger to the GNCC. In 2007, he was invited to come to America from his native Australia, where he was already racing at an elite level. Although his first season stateside was one of learning and experience, he showed tremendous potential. In 2008, he place third. Then in 2009, he placed second. And for the 2010 season, he earned the XC1 championship.

The 2014 GNCC season will mark Josh Strang’s second with the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Racing team. During the 2013 season, he delivered five podium finishes, something he hopes to build upon for the upcoming year. Due to last year’s impressive performance of finishing 4th place overall, he’ll be running the #4 plate. “I’m really looking forward to this season,” said Strang. “I’ve had a really solid preseason that included a lot of testing, so I feel very comfortable on the bike and ready to get to racing. I’m really glad to have Rocky Mountain ATV/MC supporting me again as my title sponsor, and with additional support from Yamaha, I’m set to have a great season.”

2014 also marks a new beginning for Strang as he will compete on a Yamaha – a first for his GNCC career. He explained: “The switch to the Yamaha YZ450F has been great. I felt really comfortable on the bike from the first time I rode it. The Factory Yamaha Team has stepped in to help out this year with bike setup and testing, and we’ve got the bike dialed. I’m ready to get racing for Rocky Mountain ATV/MC and hopefully get this thing on the top step of the podium.”

Dan Thomas, CEO of Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, had this to say about Strang’s upcoming season: “We are thrilled to be able to support Josh Strang for another year at the GNCC. Strang has demonstrated over and over that he is a professional athlete who can perform at the highest level. We’re excited to see him race again in 2014.”

The Mud Mucker event is sure to be an exciting race, especially since it is part of Daytona Bike Week and in relative proximity to other events. Ever since 2010 when he won the XC1 Pro championship, Strang has continuously had a strong showing during the first round. He intends to do the same in 2014 and carry that momentum through the entire season.
