STOW, OH – In addition to its sponsorship of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels (Mickey Thompson) returns to regional grassroots short-course racing as a Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Racing Series MiniStock class sponsor.
According to Lucas Oil, this sponsorship translates to real world support of racers who build and compete in small, production-based trucks. MiniStock Class racers rely primarily on stock components and with minor modifications, and these production trucks are converted into competition vehicles. Mickey Thompson’s sponsorship means support to racers who are passionate about the sport, but don’t have a huge budget.
“It’s important to us to have a meaningful role in supporting racers on the ground,” stated Ken Warner, VP of Marketing, Mickey Thompson. “Our role with this series offers the perfect opportunity to do that, and is also a great way for us to showcase the Mickey Thompson off-road tires and wheels that are perfect for these high performance applications.”
“The MiniStock class is one of the fastest growing racing classes in the series here in southern California and in Arizona,” stated Lee Perfect, LOORRS director. “Because of the limited modifications and smaller budgets, the MiniStock teams are always looking for every advantage, and Mickey Thompson’s involvement makes a big difference.”
The Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Racing Series begins Friday, Feb. 14 at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, Calif. For more information, visit http://www.lucasoilregional.com/schedule/.
