Fast-Aid-Logo-1-18-13With the 2014 SNORE Battle at Primm off-road race happening near Stateline, Nevada in just one week, Fast-Aid and Race for the Wounded have teamed up with Green Army Motorsports to honor a Wounded Combat Veteran by having him ride with off-road racing prodigy, Justin Davis.  Riding with Justin will be Retired US Army Sergeant Alex Cruz.  Alex served as a crew chief in the 101st Airborne Division on Apache Longbow helicopters and was deployed to Afganistan twice during his five years of service.  In 2013, Alex was medically discharged due to injuries sustained in combat.  Alex is currently pursuing his helicopter pilot license and hopes to fly chase helicopters for race teams in Baja in the future.

“Last fall, I had the chance to meet some guys from Race for the Wounded and was thoroughly impressed by their organization and what they have accomplished to assist wounded combat veterans” said Jared Tetzlaff, President of Fast-Aid.  “As we continued talking, I realized I wanted to do something to work together to further their mission to honor, educate and empower wounded combat veterans.  Both our organization share a passion for helping restore quality of life to people who have been through difficult times.”

Out of these discussions with Randy Simonson and John Graves, of Race for the Wounded, the goal was set to get a veteran in a racecar for the SNORE Battle at Primm.  Jared got in touch with long time Fast-Aid supporter Kevin Davis of Green Army Motorsports and arranged to keep a seat open in the Sportsman race with Justin.  “These veterans have done so much to serve their country and I am really glad to be part of giving back to them and supporting Race for the Wounded in their efforts.  I think Alex is in for a really good time in our pre-runner that we call “Trugly,” said Justin Davis.

The SNORE Battle at Primm currently has nearly 260 entries and will take place on February 21-23, 2014. It is one of the biggest off-road races of the year due to the exciting intermediate course, multi-heat action.
