Mickey-Thompson-50-Years-Logo-10-31-13STOW, OH – The new Deegan 38 mud-terrain tire and SideBiter II Wheel from Mickey Thompson have each earned a 2013 Global Media Award. Petr Likholitov from Polniy Privod 4×4 representing the Russian Republic selected the Deegan 38 tire for this honor, and Henry Pierini from Auto Zulia representing Venezuela selected the SideBiter II wheel.

Introduced in 2004, the SEMA Global Media Awards Program recognizes specialty equipment product manufacturers considered to have mass appeal to consumers in countries outside the U.S. Each judge carefully reviews and evaluates nearly 2,500 product entries before selecting the products that they feel would be of greatest interest to their readers, and most likely to succeed commercially.

Developed with five-time Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) champion and 16-time X Games medalist Brian Deegan, the Deegan 38 is the ultimate mud-terrain tire. The beveled tread edge enhances stone ejection and lug integrity, special wide lateral and offset grooves handle water, rocks and mud, and large center tread elements deliver better grip, even wear and a quieter ride. Along the shoulder, unique “shark tooth” SideBiters® and shoulder scallops guide mud and loose soil away. The tough sidewall design reduces rolling resistance and heat buildup, and features the Deegan 38 raised white lettering on most sizes. Proudly made in the USA, the Deegan 38 is scheduled for availability in the second quarter of 2014, and will be introduced in 13 popular sizes.

The tough, stylish SideBiter II wheel features the signature SideBiter styling, a durable satin black finish, a seven-spoke design, and a new embossed “pop-top” center cap featuring the Mickey Thompson logo. Available in 20 popular 15-, 16-, 17- and 20-inch diameters, the new Sidebiter II has a high load rating and a lifetime limited warranty.
