Lucas-Oil-Logo-11-21-11CORONA, California – A return to the traditional grass-roots concept of Friday and Saturday night racing and a second event at Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, Nevada, highlight the 2014 schedule of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by GEICO.

Six of the eight events on the schedule will use the Friday-Saturday format and all will feature the world’s best short course off road drivers in action under the lights. Both events in the Reno suburb of Sparks, single weekends at Las Vegas and Devore, California, and the season finale at Lake Elsinore, California, will be on Friday and Saturday nights, a scheduling change that should further stimulate fan interest on the heels of an 18 percent gain in attendance in 2013.

The season once again will conclude with the exciting, entertaining Lucas Oil Challenge Cup races and the bragging-rights showdown between the Pro 2 and Pro 4 classes. Those are scheduled to be televised live by the MAVTV American Real network on Saturday night, October 18, at Lake Elsinore.

Series director Ritchie Lewis said the points battles in all classes will end at Las Vegas September 19-20, unless a race is postponed due to weather or other factors, and on the final weekend at Lake Elsinore the teams will be able to relax and compete without worrying about the championship.

If a race counting toward the points title is postponed, however, it will be made up on Friday night, October 17, at Lake Elsinore.

The series awards banquet will be held on Sunday, October 19.

In all, 60 hours of television coverage are scheduled on MAVTV, CBS, and the CBS Sports Network. The broadcast schedules will be released as they become available.

March 22-23 – Wild Horse Motorsports Park, Chandler, Arizona
