Chestnut-Crandon-Off-Road-9-6-13Verona, WI – The hard work and the attention to detail not only resulted in another win for Dale Chestnut at Crandon International Off-Road, but his name will be forever associated with winning the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL Classix Championship for an unprecedented fourth consecutive time. The Labor Day Weekend event at Crandon is more than just a couple races, it is truly one of the greatest spectacles in motorsports. The experience of standing on top of the podium for the final race of the year, and winning the championship will be a moment Dale Chestnut will always remember.

The weekend also saw Chestnut jump into Don Koehler’s Formula 4×4 race truck for the Friday evening B & L SAND TOYS Sportsman Trophy Race. With basically no real seat time in the truck, Chestnut completed all eight laps finishing twelfth in the twenty eight truck field.

After a quick three lap practice session on Saturday morning around the infamous 1.5 mile long off-road superspeedway, Chestnut made a couple of quick adjustments to the truck and had his sights set on winning the World Championship round of the TORC series.

The start saw Chestnut and his #613 Double D Trailer Sales & Services/Off-Road Fraternity/ Control Solutions/Mueller Graphics/BFGoodrich Tire Ford Bronco get a solid start coming out of Potawatomi Turn One in second place just behind Scott Mueller. The entire seven lap race, Chestnut would close in Mueller several times, but was never able to make a clean pass. Regardless, the second place finish nearly assured the team the championship.

Sunday’s final round of racing for the 2013 TORC Sportsman saw Dale Chestnut take no prisoners. The blue and yellow Bronco led from start to finish, as the title of Classix Champion continues to reside in Verona, Wisconsin.

In ten rounds of racing Dale Chestnut finished on the podium every time. This included six wins, three runner-up spots, and one third place finish.

“This TORC Sportsman season was probably the toughest on record,” noted Dale Chestnut. “The variety of track designs really gave up fits. We all know what to expect at Crandon and Bark River, but Red Bud continues to really test our trucks, and Chicagoland was a total unknown. This is so cool that we finish our season in Crandon. This place means so much to the sport, and to come here and win at this place is such honor.”

Dale Chestnut would like to thank all its sponsors including: Double D Trailer Sales & Services – Off-Road Fraternity – Control Solutions – Ryan’s Auto – Mueller Graphics – BFGoodrich Tires
