Beauchamp-TORC-Off-Road-7-25-13Escanaba, MI (July 25, 2013) – After finally getting his break through win for the 2013 TORC season in Crandon, Danny Beauchamp continued his winning ways with back to back victories at the Dirt Track @ Route 66 Raceway. The reigning Super Stock Truck Champion is showing the competition that it’s never too late to challenge for a championship. With just four rounds of racing left in the race season, the black #826 Ford F-150 is only four points out of the championship lead.

For the first time in Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL history, the Super Stock Truck class competed on the one-mile long “Bowl of Baja.” The layout didn’t look that challenging at first glance, but as soon as all the racers finished up their Friday practice session, everyone’s opinion definitely changed. The outside portion of the track ran a majority of the half-mile dirt track with a few large jump to give the fans a thrill, while the infield was more technical with four unique corners with smaller jumps placed in such a way that kept every racer needing to catch their breath.

The start of Friday’s twelve lap race saw Beauchamp gradually move up the running order from his fourth place starting spot. By the end of lap three, the Coplan’s Iron & Metal/Hill Top RV Superstore/JC’s Mobile Wash/Splash of Color/Pike Distributors Ford F-150 found the front of the field and held the lead all the way to the checkered flag.
Remarkably, there were very few bumps or dents in the body of the #826, so it was just the usual between race inspection and prep work.

The Saturday afternoon race had Beauchamp starting from the fourth row and everyone knew that all the drivers would step up their game because it was “Go Big or Go Home” time.

The pace of Sunday’s race was much quicker than the day before. Quickly the leader Troy Schaden was the rabbit Beauchamp was looking to catch. After a couple of laps Schaden and Beauchamp were in a classic “Full Metal” battle. After not able to make a several passes stick, Beauchamp finally took over the lead during lap six. After the mandatory caution, Schaden tried all he could to get back around the #826 black Ford, but Danny Beauchamp held off challenges to take his second win of the weekend and his third victory in row.

“Never count us out,” exclaimed Danny Beauchamp. “Earlier this year we had a tough time finishing out races, but now we are back on track and right on Demeny’s rear bumper for the championship. Everyone says how tough this class is, but every weekend there’s someone new running up front. Today it was Troy Schaden, yesterday it was Jeremy Gitzlaff, and at Crandon Jeff Fannin was on the podium. I can’t forget all the other guys like Don Demeny, Nick Byng, Larry Maciosek, and Gatlin Keehner. There’s even more. We all run hard and fast, and we all have a shot at winning every time out. Thanks again to all my family and friends that come out and help.”

The next race in the TORC Super Stock Truck Championship chase is August 10-11 at RED BUD MX in Buchanan, Michigan.
