Holland, MI – The Ross Hoek Motorsports team took a big step in the development of its TORC PRO-4×4 race program during the three race weekend in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The #10 Motive Gear/Auto Trans Design/Maxxis Tire/Toyota made its first competitive laps at one of the fastest and toughest tracks in short-course off-road racing, Bark River Off-Road Raceway.

Ross Hoek headed to Bark River with more confidence about all aspects of the PRO-4×4 race program after a frustrating weekend of rain at Eldora. Ross is very familiar with the Upper Michigan racetrack garnering multiple race wins there throughout his career. Ross and his team’s goals were simple for Bark River; complete all the laps in all three rounds of racing and learn the truck. Seat time is crucial in any new race program and the #10 Motive Gear/Auto Trans Design/Maxxis Tire/Toyota completed every lap at Bark River giving Ross the ability to use more of the truck’s potential as well as gathering larger quantities of information through the Stack data acquisition and instrumentation system.

The weekend began on Friday with the Eldora round of racing that was postponed due to rain then on to the scheduled rounds of racing on Saturday and Sunday.

Each day Ross and his team worked together getting Ross more comfortable in the race truck and quicker out on the track. While disappointed with the finishes the teams goals were reached as they completed all three rounds of racing on the lead lap, with a sixth, a seventh, and a ninth place finish.

Afterwards Ross Hoek looked back on the weekend:
“We had a good weekend. We had several problems but we are getting faster in the truck, I still have a lot to learn about this truck, on the track and at the shop, but we are definitely learning and moving forward. I have to thank Johnny Greaves, Scott Douglas, and Jenkins Brother’s racing for all their help putting this program together. Our next race is Crandon on June 29. There’s two rounds in the TORC Series, and who knows, if things go well entering the Cup Race might be a possibility.”

On a side note, the Ross Hoek Motorsports Light Buggy made its first appearance of the season with Crew member Jerry Windemuller behind the wheel on Saturday, and then Ross’ dad, Glenn, got behind the wheel of the little hot rod on Sunday. Congrats to both as they both took the checkered flag.
