Justin Matney earned the win in Class 1 with a time of 11 hours, 16 minutes and 25 seconds. He finished the race a little more than 6 minutes faster than second-place finisher Corey Keysar, while Ronny Wilson rounded out the podium for third in class.

“We started fifth and the plan was to just chill out and basically pre-run to Colonet,” Matney said. “From there we just poured it on and just held position. The dust today was just miserable. We got stuck behind a couple of SCORE Trophy Trucks from the start to the lakebed and we couldn’t do anything to get around them.

“We had no flats and no issues until the motor started missing around Borrego. When we pulled in here it completely died.”
