As an interested party in recreational access on Idaho’s public lands, we thought you’d want to know about a great opportunity provided by the Idaho Non-Profit Center to help you support the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC) and that cause!

The “Idaho Gives” day “is a unique celebration of the important role that our many nonprofits play in our communities,” according to Lynn Hoffmann, Executive Director of the Idaho Nonprofit Center. “By focusing the public’s attention on the great work our nonprofits do, we hope to spur people into action on May 2, allowing them to pick their favorite charity, learn about other charities, and make a donation through the Idaho Gives web site.”

The event largely takes place online, driven by a central website hosted by Razoo.Com and the Idaho Non-Profit Center, where donors can learn about and designate funds for nonprofits in a number of categories. Event sponsors have contributed money for a pool of match and prize funds, such that throughout the day organizations and donors will have the opportunity to multiply donations through hourly competitions, random drawings, and other giving incentives.

Hoffmann is optimistic that Idahoans will rally behind Idaho Gives: “Idaho ranks very high for the amount of time our citizens give to nonprofits. Idaho Gives will draw the entire state’s attention to the key role our nonprofits play in our communities and the importance of sustaining them with donations.”

This event is an outstanding opportunity for folks that recreate on Idaho’s many public lands to contribute to BRC’s efforts to protect their access to those areas and many others across the nation.
