Villopoto-Toronto-Supercross-3-24-13Monster Energy’s Ryan Villopoto made it four-in-a-row as he claimed his seventh win of the Monster Energy Supercross season in Toronto, Canada. In front of a packed crowd at Rogers Centre, Villopoto extended his lead to 12 points over second place in the championship standings.

Villopoto was unstoppable all day, taking the top qualifier, winning his heat, and eventually racing to the main event victory. The champ continued to add to his career wins total, giving Villopoto a tally of 31 victories in the 450SX class.

It was another solid night for Chad Reed, starting up front in the main event and claiming an impressive fourth-place finish. It was his ninth top-five finish of the season, helping him maintain fourth in the points standings.

Monster Energy’s Jake Weimer bounced back from a tough race in Indianapolis to score an impressive sixth-place result in Toronto. Despite missing racing due to injury, Weimer continued to climb the standings where he now sits 12th.

With no real paddock area outside, the Monster Energy crew in Canada stepped it up with a huge display on the floor of the Rogers Centre.

250SX rider Justin Hill started out the night with a great heat race ride on his Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki machine. His second place heat-race finish gave him a good gate pick for the main event, but a crash just following the first turn forced Hill to retire from the race earlier than planned.

Monster Energy’s Dean Wilson wasn’t able to make it out to one of his favorite races on the circuit after injuries he sustained at the previous round kept him stateside.

Round 12 is now in the books, and the Monster Energy Supercross is about to hit its final five stops after taking well deserved week off from racing. The race action resumes April 6 in Houston, Texas.
