Corona, Calif. – Monster Energy’s Ryan Villopoto raced to his fourth win of the season in the 450SX class in St. Louis, Mo., and gained huge ground in the championship standings. Villopoto cut his points deficit to the leader almost in half, going from 22 points down to 12 points down.

During the red flag restart on Lap 3, Villopoto had his work cut out for him as he started sixth. He didn’t waste any time moving to the front and just after halfway had moved into the lead, eventually winning by 3.3 seconds.

Joining Villopoto on the podium was Monster Energy’s Chad Reed who took home third place in St. Louis. Reed has been consistent throughout the Monster Energy Supercross season and currently sits fifth in the points standings, just one point back of fourth.

Monster Energy’s Dean Wilson rode really smart throughout the 15-lap 250SX main event. He made smart and quick passes after getting a 12th-place start, and nearly passed for the lead before settling for second.

In only his second race back from injury, Jake Weimer continued to make progress in St. Louis. After starting outside the top-15 on the restart, Weimer made his way back up to finish 12th.

Rookie Justin Hill started out the night with a great second-place finish in his heat race. Unfortunately he went down on the opening lap, starting 20th and almost a lap down. Hill didn’t give up and was able to come across the checkered flag in 16th.

The Monster Energy Supercross in St. Louis brought out another great crowd. The Party in the Pits was packed with fans hanging out in the Monster Energy pit experience and getting autographs from their favorite riders.

It may have been cold in St. Louis, but the Monster Energy girls were keeping it hot inside the Edward Jones Dome.
