SAN DIEGO—Colorful SoCal desert racer/TV action sports commentator Cameron Steele and champion motorcycle racer Kurt Caselli will be the featured guests Tuesday at 7 p.m. during the new Roger Norman’s Dirt Live weekly desert racing internet broadcast on www.score-international.com.

Roger Norman’s Dirt Live one-hour show is broadcast live weekly on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Pacific Time.  The show content is centered around his two desert racing series, the SCORE Desert Series and the High Desert Racing Association as well as the new bonus points championship purse program he has developed called the World Championship of Desert Racing. Broadcast studios are located at the Norman Motorsports race shop in San Diego. All live events, this will be the fifth Dirt Live show to air.

Steele, 43, who has raced in several car, truck and motorcycle classes including as many as three vehicles in the same race, is concentrating his efforts this year on the No. 16 Desert Assassins Monster Energy GMC Sierra in the featured SCORE Trophy Truck division for high-tech, 800-horsepower, unlimited production trucks.

The leader of the Desert Assassins race team of San Clemente, Calif. that includes his championship-winning wife Heidi Steele, Cameron Steele is a veteran announcer on the XGames telecasts as well as on the TV broadcast team of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series of short-course events. Always a fierce competitor, Steele started this season by winning the HDRA season opener overall in January.

Caselli, 29 of Murrieta, Calif., is the rider of record for the KTM Factory off-road race team competing in the SCORE Desert Series.  A two-time defending AMA National Hare and Hound season champion, Caselli made his debut in SCORE Baja racing official last March by winning the overall title of the MasterCraft Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 with Mexico’s Ivan Ramirez on a KTM 450SX-F. Caselli and Ramirez officially finished second in SCORE Class 22 points, just four behind Honda’s class-winning Colton Udall.

In January, Caselli, who is also a two-time winner of the WORCS title in the U.S., won two stages in the international Dakar Rally racing as a rookie in the event.

NORMAN NOTES…
Norman, 49, a Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 overall winner himself, acquired ownership of the world-renown SCORE International on Dec. 20, 2012 from Sal Fish, 73, the iconic godfather of desert racing who ran SCORE for 39 years.

As a hotel/casino owner in northern Nevada, business developer and a champion racer himself, Norman re-started the High Desert Racing Association, (HDRA) in 2011. HDRA was highly regarded when it was active originally in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Norman is a Dirt Live regular with his ‘Pit Stop with Roger’ segment.

DIRT LIVE CREW
Desert racing public address announcer George Antill is the host of Norman’s Dirt Live program. While being refined weekly, one of the regular elements of the show will be a SCORE social media interchange, allowing fans and racers to comment and ask questions through the SCORE Facebook and SCORE Twitter platforms.  Another special segment each week is Tech Tips with SCORE Tech co-director Jake Velasco.

Andrew Grimshaw, SCORE Media Production Manager, is the coordinating producer of the show. The program is hosted on ustream.com, the world’s largest streaming internet site.

DIRT LIVE ON THE ROAD…
Next week’s regular Dirt Live show at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 12) will air live from the Oakley headquarters in Foothill Ranch, Calif., during the announcement event for the 2012 Dirt Sports Magazine Driver of the Year.

ON THE BAJAscope
In its 40th year as the world’s foremost desert racing organization in 2013, the three-race 2013 SCORE Desert Series, with all three massive special events held in Baja California, Mexico, will start with the 27th Annual MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250, to be held March 8-10 in San Felipe. A live drawing for starting positions, by class, for the popular race will be held during a special edition of Dirt Live next Wednesday at 7 p.m. from Norman Motorsports.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF DESERT RACING
The 2013 SCORE Desert Series will also be part of the quickly-evolving World Championship of Desert Racing, which will combine points accumulated in the three SCORE Baja races along with points earned from three of the four-race 2013 HDRA Series, all held in the United States. Both the SCORE and HDRA series will crown their own individual class and overall point champions as well with a bonus purse for those racers who qualify for the World Championship of Desert Racing points program to earn a desert racing World Champion title.
