SAN DIEGO—Roger Norman, the businessman, racer and now owner of SCORE Intnernational, officially begins his reign as the head of the most-prized and eternally-cherished desert racing organization in the world by announcing today the new Roger Norman’s Dirt Live weekly desert racing internet broadcast will air each Tuesday at 6 p.m. at www.score-international.com.

The one-hour weekly Roger Norman’s Dirt Live show will be broadcast live on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. Pacific Time.  The show content will be centered around the two desert racing series he owns, the SCORE Desert Series and the High Desert Racing Association as well as the new bonus points program he has developed called the World Championship of Desert Racing. Broadcast studios will be at Norman’s race shop in San Diego.

In addition to Norman, who will be a show regular with his Pit Stop with Roger segment, special guests will be frequent on the program, starting Tuesday with Mexico’s popular father/son racing team of Gus Vildosola and Gus Vildosola Jr, who split the driving in the No. 21 Red Bull Vildosola Racing Ford F-150 SCORE Trophy Truck. The Vildosolas, of Mexicali, Mexico, are the most prominent desert racing team in all of Mexico.

Acquiring ownership of the world’s foremost desert racing organization Dec. 20, 2012 from Sal Fish, 73, the iconic godfather of desert racing who ran SCORE for 39 years, Norman, 49, participated this past weekend in the final salute to Sal and the passing of the torch at the 2012 SCORE Awards Night in Newport Beach, Calif.

In a symbolic transition ceremony, Norman received from Fish at the close of Saturday’s memorable SCORE Awards Night at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, a bucket of sand with a cactus indigenous to Mexico as well as an actual torch used in the official torch relay for the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games.

Speaking to Sal specifically and to the desert racing world in general, Norman commented at the SCORE Awards Night, “Thank you Sal for trusting me to take this sport forward and care for your treasured SCORE International. Sal has always been a handshake guy and with his hand shake is his bond. We relish this opportunity to keep Sal’s dream alive and build even more friendships in the future as we cultivate our concepts in the SCORE Desert Series. Desert racing is my passion and SCORE will continue to be in hands that care.”

Following up on the success of last week’s two and one-half hour pilot internet show, Norman decided to reduce the time to one hour and confirm the day and time for a weekly show.

As a hotel/casino owner in northern Nevada, business developer and a champion racer himself, Norman resurrected the High Desert Racing Association, (HDRA) in 2011. HDRA was highly regarded when it was active in the 1980s and early 1990s.

DIRT LIVE CREW
Desert racing public address announcer George Antill will be the host of Norman’s Dirt Live program. While being refined weekly, one of the regular elements of the show will be a SCORE social media interchange, allowing fans and racers to comment and ask questions.

Andrew Grimshaw, SCORE Media Production Manager, is the coordinating producer of the show in association with Joe Lloyd’s SCORE Media House.

ON THE BAJA HORIZON
Beginning its 40th year as the world’s foremost desert racing organization in 2013, the three-race 2013 SCORE Desert Series, with all three massive special events held in Baja California, Mexico, will start with the 27th Annual MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250, to be held March 8-10 in San Felipe.

The 2013 SCORE Desert Series will also be part of the quickly-evolving World Championship of Desert Racing, which will combine points accumulated in the three SCORE Baja races along with points earned from three of the four-race 2013 HDRA Series, four races all held in the United States. Both the SCORE and HDRA series will crown their own individual class and overall point champions as well with a bonus purse for those racers who qualify for the World Championship of Desert Racing points program to earn a desert racing World Champion.
