SAN DIEGO — Hoping to answer as many questions as possible regarding his plans for the new SCORE International and the relationship between the 2013 SCORE Desert Series and the new World Championship of Desert Racing bonus points project, SCORE owner Roger Norman will host a live webacast Wednesday night (Jan. 9) at 7 p.m. Pacific Time. It will be carried live at www.score-international.com.

“Things have been moving very fast since we acquired SCORE International on Dec. 20 and we know there are buckets of questions that we hope to address during Wednesday’s webcast,” said Norman, who is also owner of the High Desert Racing Association (HDRA), just returned from several meetings in Peru with Dakar Rally officials. “As the desert racing season is getting underway, we want to host these social media webcasts on a regular basis to communicate with our racers, crews, sponsors and fan base in a very interactive environment.”

As a hotel/casino owner in northern Nevada, business developer and a champion racer himself, Norman resurrected the High Desert Racing Association, (HDRA) in 2011. HDRA was highly regarded when it was active in the 1980s and early 1990s.

George Antill will be the moderator of Norman’s update session on Wednesday.

Beginning its 40th year as the world’s foremost desert racing organization in 2013, the three-race 2013 SCORE Desert Series, with all three massive special events held in Baja California, Mexico, will start with the 27th Annual MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250, to be held March 8-10 in San Felipe.

The 2013 SCORE Desert Series will also be part of the quickly-evolving World Championship of Desert Racing, which will combine points accumulated in the three SCORE Baja races along with points earned from three of the four-race 2013 HDRA Series, four races all held in the United States. Both the SCORE and HDRA series will crown their own individual class and overall point champions as well with a large bonus purse for those racers who qualify for the World Championship of Desert Racing points.

Norman will participate on Saturday night at the 2012 SCORE Awards Night at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach, Calif., the final event of Sal Fish’s original SCORE International.
