Temecula, CA – Mitchell DeJong, the youngest racer to win at a Traxxas TORC series off-road race, has taken the season by storm and has simply dominated the Pro-Buggy class.

At only age 14, the Traxxas / Red Bull / BFGoodrich sponsored prodigy on 4-wheels continues to lead the complete Pro-Buggy field into Wisconsin’s Crandon International Raceway for the World Championship Off-Road Races, Aug. 31-Sep. 2.  With 7 wins of 12 races, Mitchell also holds the overall lead in the complete Traxxas TORC series points standings, another mark in history for the young gun.

Dubbed the “Big House” for it’s incredible fan fare and high-speed door banging race course, Crandon International Raceway will host thousands of race fans during this Labor Day Weekend, where Mitchell will take another leap in his own racing resume. He will take the wheel of the #24 Traxxas / BFGoodrich Pro-Light race truck. While seat time has been limited to a test session, Mitchell’s initial practice lap times turned heads from even the veteran racers. Mitchell is a multi-time champion in his Kart Modifed race truck, maybe that experience will prove invaluable at the “Big House.”

The momentum is on Mitchell’s side to do well at the World Championship Off-Road Races,  after a lap shattering win at Bark River’s first round,  he also showed the poise of a champion for Bark River round 2 when adversity hits his shield, or mud that is. Mitchell almost took the weekend victory-sweep after coming from last place on the muddy Bark River course, passing 10 racers in 3 laps to lose his motor right before challenging the lead.

With new ponies aboard the #24 Traxxas / Red Bull / BFGoodrich Pro-Buggy, Mitchell is optimistic about this weekend, he commented, “Bark River was really fun it had fast and technical features that put my BFG’s to the test, and now I look forward to racing at Crandon again. My motor will need to be bulletproof this weekend. I won the last time I raced here in June. It’s a super fast track, I hope I get to celebrate with the fans from the podium again!”

If you’re not one of the lucky fans who gets to enjoy the multi-day festival of horsepower in Crandon, WI, don’t worry NBC will air a two-hour special as part of the Red Bull Signature Series on December 29th.  For more information about Crandon International Raceway or Traxxas TORC Series, visit www.torcseries.com and www.crandonoffroad.com.
