Morgantown, W.Va. – MX Sports Pro Racing and the ATVPG are pleased to announce the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Series top ten AMA Pro ATV class finishers, as well as the 2012 Rookie of the Year. Once again, the top ten and specialty award winners are invited to attend the Season Celebration, alongside champions in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, at the South Coast Winery, in Temecula, Calif. The event is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. Pacific.

On Sunday, September 9, teams and riders of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship and the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, along with many members of the motocross industry, will gather to celebrate the title winners in the Pro ATV Class, 450 Class, 250 Class and WMX Class. FUEL TV and NBC host Jason Weigandt, along with trackside public address announcer Tim Cotter, will emcee the festivities. The two familiar voices of motocross will take a look back at each round of the two- and four-wheeled motocross championships and the highlights that shaped how the titles unfolded in each division.

Headlining the several awards that will be handed out that evening are the coveted Gary Denton Motocross Cup for Pro ATV, the Edison Dye Motocross Cup for the 450 Class, and the Gary Jones Motocross Cup for the 250 Class. Each trophy will be awarded to the rider and team that claimed each respective championship. Additionally, the Women’s Motocross Cup will be presented to the rider and team that captured the WMX Class title.

All four of the respective 2012 champions will have his and her chance in the spotlight, receiving their own trophy and distinguished medal to commemorate their achievement and serve as the ideal complement to the exclusive number one plates that will adorn their bikes the following season. MX Sports Pro Racing will also recognize the 2012 Sportsperson of the Year, which is given to the rider that exhibited the determination and class often identified with the most renowned names in the sport, as well as hand out Rookie of the Year accolades to the top first-year rider in each class. Eighth place finisher Mark Madl, Kathleen, Fla., will receive the 2012 Rookie of the Year honor in the Pro ATV division.
