CORONA, CALIF.– In front of 15,000 off-road race fans, Sheldon Creed has extended his points lead in the #74 A.M. Ortega SuperLite truck at Round 9 & 10 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Race Series (LOORRS) at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California. On Saturday, Creed quickly dominated the field under the lights when he took the lead on Lap 3 in turn three. Following two full course cautions, the restart and a constantly position-changing lineup following Creed, Sheldon stayed away from the trouble and led the pack to the checkers for the win. Not only did he take the win ahead of 12 racers, but Sheldon also claimed the SuperLite fast lap for the night in Lap 2 with a time of 53.336.

Sunday was a hot one and with that, so was the SuperLite race. As the sun dropped, Sheldon began working, from fourth, at a consistent pace towards that #1 position. Following the restart and a full course caution, Sheldon Creed prepared to strike as the restart lap had begun. He pulled out in front during turn two gaining Sheldon the lead. With the checkers in sight, Sheldon Creed piloted the #74 A.M. Ortega SuperLite across the finish line sweeping the weekend with two 1st place podiums.

Sheldon Creed is on track for the SuperLite Championship with his sixth season win already, he’s a consistent force to be reckon with. This is Sheldon’s Rookie Year in the SuperLite class, last year he took the Regional Championship in only two weekends concluded by a round win, two podiums and a fifth place finish.

On Saturday’s Pro Lite lineup there were 24 racers ready to battle, Sheldon Creed qualified third and started the race on the outside front. As the field mixed up, bumped and banged, Creed remained determined to grab a hold of a podium spot. During the restart lap, Creed was able to get by Beat in turn two. Once in fifth, Creed held off the #51 Pro Lite but suffered from a mishap where he spun out leaving him with a split radiator and finish in 20th.

After a valiant effort to the top five in the Pro Lite race, “a rock hit the radiator, split the radiator and the motor overheated. We made the decision to save the motor and not run the Pro Lite on Sunday” says Scott Creed, Sheldon’s father. Sheldon Creed is stretching his legs in the Pro Lite truck, this is also his Rookie Year in the class.
