PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce that 2012 International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) fund-raising shirts are now available for purchase.

Proceeds from the shirts support the U.S. effort in the ISDE in Saxony, Germany, Sept. 24-29. To buy a shirt, just visit the AMA’s online store at AmericanMotorcyclist.com > ISDE Team Info > Buy An Official T-Shirt.

Antti Kallonen, who is managing the U.S. ISDE team with assistance from Robert Pearce, said that plans are coming together nicely for the 2012 effort.

“With a number of pieces in place, this year’s ISDE program is being built on a strong foundation,” Kallonen said. “Funding and planning are going well, and we have a number of exciting prospects for the World and Junior World Trophy Teams this year. From the club teams to the riders racing for the world title, we intend to field a strong, competitive effort across the board in 2012.

“However, the ISDE is a major logistical effort, and it’s very expensive on both a rider and team level,” Kallonen added. “We encourage all fans of off-road to purchase a fund-raising shirt for 2012 and back our run at a world title. ”

In addition to the World and Junior World Trophy Teams, the United States will send several club teams to compete in Germany. These riders, from whom the women’s and senior teams also will be selected, will earn a spot on the team by competing in one of two ISDE qualifiers.

U.S. ISDE qualifiers will be organized by the Boise Ridge Riders June 2-3 in Idaho City, Idaho, and by the Appalachian Dirt Riders June 9-10 in Wellston, Ohio. More information about the Idaho event can be found at BoiseRidgeRiders.com. Details for the Ohio event are at ADROhio.org.

Kallonen is a former FIM World Motocross competitor and has worked as the mechanic for multi-time FIM World Enduro Champion Juha Salminen. Kallonen is currently KTM North America’s off-road team manager. Pearce is a five-time ISDE participant and is KTM North America’s vice president of operations.
