The SCORE Baja 1000. It’s the granddaddy off off-road races. In 2011, SCORE marked the 44th running of the event, which has been drawing adventure seekers to the Baja California peninsula for decades upon decades. Baja still offers what, unfortunately, the States can’t in some ways – miles upon miles of racecourse that zigs in and out of heavily populated areas. Although most off-road enthusiasts will never tackle the event in a racecar, the event itself is a scene that should be experienced once. From the party of tech and contingency before the race to the drama that plays out during the 1000, it’s definitely a trip in which you’ll return with stories.
