ITP continues to contend in numerous classes in this year’s Grand National Cross Country Championship Series. In the XC1 Pro division, the Foremost Insurance/Warnert Can-Am duo of Adam McGill and Chris Bithell have been consistent frontrunners on a combination of ITP Holeshot GNCC and QuadCross XC tires. Following round 10 in Unadilla, New York, where Bithell was 2nd and McGill 3rd, they are 2-3 in the point standings, with McGill (right) holding a 10-point edge.

Patrick McGuire has been consistently quick in the XC2 Pro Am class, notching five top-5s (with three podium appearances). His third place at Unadilla put him into third place in the standings.

Angel Atwell charged to her second Women’s class victory of the season at Unadilla (second overall in the morning Amateur class competition), and currently holds a strong second place in her division’s points with three events remaining on the schedule.

Perhaps most impressive of all is the year-long performance of Dave Simmons. Competing in the 50+ Master’s class, Simmons once again was the overall winner of the morning’s racing at Unadilla—ahead of hundreds of other amateurs. This feat has been accomplished six times so far in 2011! And except for one DNF, he’s won his class at every round, effectively locking up the series championship (a rider’s best nine finishes are counted).

Angel Atwell has put her ITP tires to good use, placing second overall in the morning at Unadilla, and first in the Women’s division. She’s currently second in points.

We’re looking forward to seeing what these riders can do in the last three races of the season. Stay tuned.
