LAKE FOREST, CA – The calendar marks the first day of autumn this week, but off-road race fans can extend their summer by heading out to Speedworld Motorsports Complex in Surprise, Arizona this weekend for rounds 11 and 12 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, where warm temps and hot racing action are on the playbill.  Seven-time national champ, Carl Renezeder, goes into the weekend leading the Pro-4 points, and second in the Pro-2 battle.

“It’s been nearly seven weeks since our last race weekend, and the guys have been working non-stop on these trucks,” explained Renezeder.  “We are constantly working on improving them, and it seems to be paying off.  We’ve had some bad luck moments this year that have kept us off the podium a bit more than we’d like, but we’re in the hunt and that’s what matters.”

Two thirds of the race season is complete in the 15-round championship, so this weekend is their version of the start of the playoffs.  The points remain the same, but the opportunity to earn more is quickly dwindling.  Tension will definitely be higher as you walk around the pits this weekend, and game faces will be on.  Championship caliber trucks loaded?  Check.  Championship winning driver ready?  Check.  Best crew in the business ready?  Check.  Blood pressure medicine and Tums loaded?  Double check.  Time to go racing.

The teams will practice and qualify on Friday, September 23rd starting at 11:00 a.m., then it’s nothing but racing Saturday and Sunday.  Opening ceremonies are at 12:00 p.m. both days with Pro racing to follow in the afternoon.  For a more detailed schedule, visit the series website at www.lucasoiloffroad.com.
