BFGoodrich is asking for help in aiding the victims of the storms and tornadoes that traveled from Texas to New York at the end of April. Here’s the release sent out from the company today:
Hundreds of tornadoes touched down from Texas to New York April 27-28, with the worst damage in Mississippi and Alabama. Tuscaloosa, Ala., and its surrounding areas were some of the hardest hit, with a tornado cutting a 32-mile swath through the town, wiping out homes and businesses. Since 1945, Tuscaloosa has been home to a major BFGoodrich manufacturing facility, employing more than 1,400 people and making such tires as the All-Terrain T/A®KO, Mud-Terrain T/A®KM2 and g-Force™ Sport.
Nearly 340 people died in the storms, more than two-thirds of those were in Alabama, with thousands more injured and without homes. Fortunately all BFGoodrich plant employees escaped unharmed, but many of their homes, property, family and friends did not.
