Truck cap and tonneau cover manufacturer A.R.E. built a unique truck for the 2010 SEMA Show paying tribute to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. With its facilities in Massillon, Ohio, being just 10 or so miles away from the Pro Football HOF in Canton, Ohio, A.R.E. decided to customize a 2011 F-150 tying in all of the intricacies of the HOF into the truck. Before the truck was fully built, A.R.E.’s Director of Marketing Bryan Baker explained the idea of the truck.

“We are excited to build this truck with the Pro Football Hall of Fame, whose headquarters are adjacent to our own manufacturing facility, to celebrate America’s love affair with professional football and the tailgating experience,” Baker said. “Our goal is to help promote the Hall’s mission to preserve this beloved pastime, which we know many of our customers enjoy as avid truck enthusiasts.”

He also showed us the Ford Product Excellence Award given to A.R.E. at the show. First off, the A.R.E. LSX Tonneau Cover features 75 signatures on its top.

It features two pull-out Smith and Wesson cases filled with actual HOF memorabilia (which can be swapped out throughout the year depending upon what event they are at), while a fold-down flat-screen TV plays highlights of the HOF members. Also around the back is a hitch-mounted grill for the ultimate in tailgating

The vehicle will take the Hall of Fame experience on the road by displaying the truck at football games, automotive shows and the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival events. Hoffman told us at SEMA that the plan is to auction off the vehicle (probably in 2012) for two SEMA-based charities that include Victory Junction Gang Camp (a camp for children with severe health problems) and ChildHelp (providing assistance for abused children). Money raised from the auction will also go to the Pro Football HOF. There’s even a Twitter account set up to follow the truck and events it will be at: www.twitter.com/F150ProFballHOF
