Line-X Protective Coatings had a few things up their sleeve at the 2010 SEMA Show. Aside from their involvement with Tim Samaras from the Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers who coated his GMC Sierra chase truck with Line-X, the company also introduced its new Aspart-X U/V Protective Coatings. This new coating can be used for a number of different applications (decks, patios, floors, swimming pools, and more) but it’s probably most applicable to automotive enthusiasts as garage or shop flooring when the surface is properly prepared.

The new Aspart-X line is available throughout the company’s network of over 400 franchised centers in the U.S. Line-X tells us that Aspart-X is made of a zero volatile organic compound (VOC), 100% solid, aliphatic, pure polyurea coating specifically engineered as a topcoat for polyurea and polyurethane systems. The material is designed to be have an “easy-to-clean finish” that can be configured in a variety of non-skid finishes, with stock color offerings such as solid tan, gray, white, black and clear are available (but custom color options are available as well). The clear topcoat is designed to be an excellent sealer to protect from impact, abrasion and chemical damage – which could be ideal for shops and garages.

“We feel the ASPART-X flooring products will be a huge hit with both consumers and industrial clients alike,” said Kevin Heronimus, CEO of LINE-X Protective Coatings. “The attractive color finishes, added protection and quick cure time make it possible to have the job complete in less than 24-hours preventing extensive down-time.”
