The NASCAR world got the first glimpse of Robby Gordon’s newest venture last weekend at the Talladega Speedway, but the off-road world may just be learning of his exciting new news.

Last weekend at Talladega, Gordon announced that he and longtime friend and attorney Steven Nichols have formed a partnership to manufacture, distribute and retail a new energy drink called Speed Energy. Gordon’s announcement came at a press conference before the NASCAR race, and he sported the new logo on the side of his #7 Toyota for the first time last weekend. He noted at the press conference that Speed Energy will come in three different flavors that include Unleaded, Fuel and Octane.

When it comes to the off-road world, this means Gordon has dropped his Monster Energy sponsorship and his going to be running Speed Energy on his truck at the upcoming SCORE Baja 1000. We had a chance to catch up with Gordon while he was signing autographs at the Magnaflow booth at the 2010 SEMA Show, and he filled us in on a few more details of the very recent development.

Gordon just recently got his hands on the actual product (as you can see above), and he even autographed some cans for his fans. He told us that he already has deals in place with some Nevada store chains, Harrah’s casinos and many more in the works. The deal is so new that he just came from a meeting about the product before the signing at Magnaflow. Gordon even made sure to pour us a few glasses to test it out (though we didn’t catch each drink’s name, we tried the yellow and the orange and both were pretty good; yellow is the mixer, orange is the easy drinker).

Check out the below video of Gordon talking about the upcoming Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 race in just a few weeks as well as a little info about his Speed Energy drink.
