Although it won’t come out until 2011, with all the recent excitement in the rally car world centered around last weekend’s X Games in LA (check out the story here), Codermasters Studios, the makers of the DiRT off-road video game franchise, has just released the official trailer for the game. The trailer video features WRC driver Ken Block racing through Kenya, Norway and Monaco, in a number of different weather climates, that concludes with an explosive finale.

Codemasters says DiRT 3 will boast more cars, more locations, more routes and more events than any other game in the series, including over 50 rally cars representing the very best from five decades of the sport. The first two games have features short-course off-road vehicles, but there’s no official word yet as to whether or not the new game will.

As the Codemasteres notes, “DiRT 3 delivers mud, sweat and gears world over: from the intense weather-beaten rally stages of Europe, Africa and the US, to executing performance driving showcases and career challenges where car control is pushed to spectacular limits.”

DiRT 3 is still under development at Codemasters Studios, and once it is released it will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PCs.
