Press Release

February 21, 2006 1st Annual "Snow Ride of Hope" raises over $11,000.00 for Prostate Cancer Research.

James Crocock and his nephew Benjamin Crocock, set out for a nice family ride with fellow sledder’s last Saturday morning from the Stanhope Firefighters Hall, near Minden, Ontario to help raise money for the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada.

Forty-six snowmobile enthusiasts, from as far away as Windsor in the west to Ottawa in the east, braved snow squall warnings and minus 20 degree temperatures to participate in the first annual “Snow Ride of Hope”.

The ride was followed by a hot lunch, announcements and prizes were awarded to all!!

Co-founders Steve Hutton, and Sherri Deschamps, were ecstatic to discover that over $11,000.00 was raised for the cause.

It is truly wonderful to see so many people getting involved. There is a desperate need to bring funding and awareness for Prostate Cancer. The Prostate Extreme team hopes to double their attendance next year.
