Polaris Headlines 2016 UTV Lineup with 144 hp RZR XP Turbo EPS

Polaris has come out swinging in 2016, unveiling a pair of new RZR models this year that is headlined by its new RZR XP Turbo EPS that will produce an industry-leading 144 horsepower.

The new RZR XP Turbo EPS will lead the industry in UTV horsepower output at 144, thanks to its new 925cc ProStar turbocharged engine. It will have an MSRP of $24,999. Also unveiled for 2016 is the RZR S 1000 EPS. This 60-inch RZR model, which retails for $17,999, features a 100-horsepower ProStar 1000 engine. It also include a host of performance features, such as dual A-arm rear suspension with FOX 2.0 Podium X Shocks, a true all-wheel-drive system and standard electronic power steering.

Polaris also updated other models in the 2016 RZR line, including updates to the driver position on the RZR 1000 EPS, RZR 900 EPS, RZR S 900 EPS, RZR XC 900 EPS, RZR 4 900 EPS, RZR XP 1000 EPS, RZR XP Turbo EPS, RZR XP 4 1000 EPS. The non-EPS RZRs will feature a new seat angle to aid in driver comfort and reduce fatigue by bringing his/her elbows closer to their body. Polaris also notes the RZR XP 1000 will have adjustable seatbelt sliders for the new model year.

Polaris has grown the Ranger family for the 2016 model year with four new vehicles, while existing models are updated with power increases and other enhancements.

Polaris is offering a new Ranger 570 Full-Size for 2016, which includes features such as a 60-inch wide three-seat chassis, a tubular Roll Over Protection System, 1,500 pounds of towing capacity and a 800-pound bed capacity. The Ranger 570 Full-Size is powered by a 44-horsepower ProStar 570 engine. It also features independent rear suspension, tilt steering, and optional Speed Key to limit the vehicle’s speed to 25 mph. The retail price for the Ranger 570 Full-Size will be $9,999.

For the mud lovers, Polaris offers its new three-seat Ranger XP 900 EPS High Lifter Edition Stealth Black, which carries a suggested retail price of $18,499. Designed with mudding in mind thanks to unique gearing and a heavy-duty reverse chain, the XP 900 EPS High Lifter Edition also features a higher engine air and clutch intakes and outlet. It also features lower A-arms, aggressive 28-inch High Lifter Outlaw II tires, and an improved drainage skid plate. Polaris also says it features a Pro-Lock On-Demand All-Wheel Drive for quicker four-wheel drive engagement. The Ranger XP 900 EPS High Lifter Edition is also equipped with a 4,500-pound winch.

For 2016, Polaris will also unveil one of the first vehicles from Polaris’ partnership with Brammo Inc. in the two-seat Ranger EV Li-Ion Polaris Pursuit Camo, which the company says offers more than three times the total battery lifespan of traditional acid batteries, and more than twice the range (claimed 50+ miles) on one charge. To complement the Lithium-Ion battery technology, the Ranger EV Li-Ion Polaris Pursuit Camo features a single 48-volt, high-efficiency, AC-induction motor. The new system also features a Battery Management Controller, which continuously monitors battery usage for a more accurate representation of battery life. A Vehicle Control Module (VCM) allows for a new digital gauge with speedometer and improved accessory integration. The suggested retail price for the model is $22,999.

Polaris two-seater Ranger line is expanded with the Ranger 570 EPS Hunter Edition Polaris Pursuit Camo, which is priced at $12,599. Polaris built this vehicle with the hunger in mind, as its features the company’s Active Descent Control (ADC) system for more controlled descents ideal for hunts hilly and mountainous terrain. The new model also includes Polaris’ Pro-Lock On-Demand All-Wheel Drive system, a 3,500-pound winch, and dual Lock & Ride Gun Scabbards.

The Ranger line gets more power across the board thanks to the addition of high-output ProStar engines to the Ranger Crew 900-5, Ranger Crew 900-6 models, Ranger 570 and Ranger Crew 570-6. The Ranger Crew 900 models will now boast 68 horsepower, similar to the Ranger XP 900 models, and the Ranger XP 570 and Ranger Crew 570-6 will now feature 46 horsepower.

In 2016, the Ranger line receives an updated hood design on the Ranger XP 900 and Ranger XP 570 and Crew vehicles. Both the Ranger XP 900 EPS and Crew 900 painted models are now equipped with Pro-Lock On-Demand All-Wheel Drive as well for the new model year.

For 2016, Polaris has added a new high-powered flagship model with the the ACE 900 SP, which will retail for $11,499. It will be powered by a 60-horsepower ProStar 900 engine that features electronic fuel injection and electronic throttle control. For more information, visit http://www.polaris.com/.
